FASHION

A few weeks ago I bought Nora some plaid cotton tunics. They are so cute and she has knit jeans to wear with the tunics. This morning I put a lovely pink and blue tunic on her along with a cute pair of pink jeans. She said "This is a boy shirt." . I told her it isn't a boy shirt it's a girls cotton tunic. I told her that girls wear cotton shirts too. Then I told her she looked lovely in the tunic top and jeans. She said "No, I look handsome". Can you believe it. Handsome. When I told the director at Nora's school about how Nora felt about her clothes, Rachel laughed. No little boy would be caught wearing a pink and blue tunic top and pink knit jeans. I'm going to have to get a picture of this so you can see for yourself. I wonder what Nora's taste in clothes will be when she's 13 years old?

SNOW DAY OR SNOW DAYS

We don't usually have snow here but last year we had more snow than I ever remember. This year we have had more snow than we got last year. Nora loves it. She got up and saw all the snow and was angry. She said "Mama we forgot to buy a sled." I don't know anyone here who has a sled and I've never seen one for sale here. We emptied a large blue plastic tub she uses to keep toys in and she got inside and I pulled her around on the snow and she was happy. Anyway we didn't have church services on Sunday or school on Monday or dance on Tuesday. We just hibernated for a few days. I made hot chocolate while Nora and Daddy made a snow man on Sunday afternoon and on Monday Nora and I "sledded" and made another snow man. I didn't take pictures on Monday but here are the pictures from Sunday. We actually got more snow after these were taken. Nora thinks it was winter because it snowed and that it's now spring because the snow melted. We may have more snow this coming week and maybe I'll be able to convince her than it can be winter even if there is no snow on the ground.

WEDDING PICTURES

I was very busy during the wedding and I took these pictures earlier before dark and before all the chairs were put in place. The photos of Nora were taken by my brother in law. Del took the outside picture before dark. We should be able to get some good photos later. Other people took pictures and there was a professional photographer here. We turned the lights down low in the room where we had dinner and the centerpieces and flower arrangements glowed beautifully. It was still daylight when I took photos. It was a beautiful evening but it was very hard work. We had 40 people here for the event. I don't have pictures of the bride and groom but maybe later.

Can you believe there are 40 chairs here. It looks so small but I guess it's not.

Isn't Nora's hair beautiful. My neice in law's sister did her hair.

CHRISTMAS MORNING

This was not a typical Christmas for us. We had a wedding in our home on January 1, 2011. We didn't decorate for Christmas the way we usually do and we had to keep the tree simple with no color. The tree was our only Christmas decorations inside. I wish we could have gone all out with the decorations because it's the first Christmas that Nora knew exactly what was happening. She was so excited. She loved every minute of it even if we were more decorated for a wedding than Christmas. I hope I never have to do a wedding so close to Christmas again. We went to my parents home for Christmas dinner and got away from the stress of the wedding. We all enjoyed that (well my Mom may not have enjoyed it as much as I did). I'll post pictures from the wedding later.
