BIRTHDAY SNOW

We have often heard stories about Del's birthdays when he was a child. The stories usually have tales of snow, blizzards and ice cream. He will now have a new birthday snow story. This is the first time we have had snow on his birthday here in Texas. Del's birthday was on Thursday but we planned to have a party on Friday so some other family members could come. We knew there was a chance we would get snow on Friday and knew to expect 4" if we got snow. Thursday night my sister April called and wanted to come and stay the night with us. She had a meeting about 3 miles from our house and didn't want to drive an hour and a half in the snow on Friday morning. We were very excited to have April come to stay. Nora was thrilled. Anyway, we woke Friday morning to 8" of snow. Classes were cancelled at Nora's school and April's meeting was cancelled also. We had a great day of doing nothing. Friday night no one could get here for Del's party. Del, Nora, April and I celebrated with just the four of us. We ate chili and chocolate cake and had lots of fun. Here are some pictures of the snow and eating birthday cake. I forgot to take pictures before we cut the cake.

Everyone wanted to stick their tongues out and be silly
Del's already getting ready for the Superbowl

Nora took this one of Mom and Dad
And it wouldn't be a celebration without a Barbie Movie(notice the chocolate cake)
