ROCK STAR DAY

Nora's teacher gives the children rocks to put in a jar when they do something above and beyond expectations. When the jar is completely filled they have a rock star party. Everyone get to dress like a rock star. Today was ROCK STAR DAY! I took pictures of Nora before school. She thought she was so cute. She asked if she could pose the way she wanted to for the photos. I let her and this is what I got. Where she learned this I don't know. The things we watch on TV doesn't have people posing for pictures like this.

TUMBLING

Nora loves tumbling class. She tumbles every Monday afternoon. She looks forward to it all week. She is also very good at tumbling. Today she was doing a near perfect round off and her instructor said they were going to work on a one handed cartwheel. I thought "Oh No" but Nora did a beautiful one handed cartwheel on her first try. I was stunned. Her instructor came out of the class and told me Nora was doing an amazing job. At dinner tonight Del asked her if she wanted to be gymnast. "No. It's to sweaty." was her answer. We laughed at that. Nora loves to play and loves tumbling but she hates to sweat. She says she wants to be a designer. She loves designing clothes for her Barbies.

RECOVERED

Nora has had pneumonia but is now fully recovered. This is the first real illness she has had. She has had colds and a couple of times has had a low fever but never been really sick. This is the first time in her five years that she has needed antibiotics. She went back to school last week and did very well. She caught up with everything she had missed and made great grades on both weeks works. She did get a little tired at first after being still for a week but was so happy to see her friends. Her first day back I told them not to let her go outside and play and she was very unhappy with me that afternoon. The next few days it rained and all the kids stayed inside so that was OK with her. She loved being there for Valentine's Day. She made everyone in her class a card and also gave them cards we bought so she had two cards for every child in her class. Nora loves making things. She is very much a craft lover. We're all glad things are back to normal around here.

DINOSAUR VS BARBIE

This is Nora's favorite Christmas present. She took this for show and tell at school (we asked Ms. Charlynn first). Ms. Charlynn said everyone enjoyed the dinosaur. They invited other classes to come in and watch the dinosaur and invited the office workers too. I think the dinosaur put on quite a show.

NORA'S FIRST SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

Nora had her very first ever school Christmas program. All the girls were angels except Nora. She was Mary. She was very disappointed she didn't have wings but did an excellent job as Mary. We were so proud of her.

MORE ZOO PHOTOS

A BUSY WEEKEND!

Nora has a week off from school and we decided to spend the weekend before Thanksgiving having fun. We picked Nora up from school at 1:00 on Friday and headed off for some kid sized fun. We went to Santa Land on Friday night and saw beautiful Christmas lights. Then on Saturday we went to Caldwell Zoo. It's not a very large zoo but it's very nice. We had seen all Nora wanted to see in two hours and she was ready to go back to the hotel and swim. All Nora wanted out of the trip was a hotel with swimming pool and an elevator. I took lots of pictures at the zoo and will post more later.

THE SWEETEST LITTLE DINOSAUR IN THE WORLD

This year Nora requested to be a rainbow colored dinosaur for halloween. I decided on pink, purple and orange. It's hard to find rainbow colored fabric around here. She loves the costume and can't wait to wear it while watching Dino Dan (her favorite TV show). She has learned so much about dinosaurs watching Dino Dan.

NORA AT WORK

Some of the employees Del works with gave Nora a child size hard hat and safety glasses. That meant she needed to go to work. She went with Del to see what was happening with a dragline crossing a county road. Nora loved the experience and you can tell by the expressions on her face she loved the hat and glasses too. She thought she was working right along side Dad. It takes so little to make a child happy and feel so important. She felt so big. She wore the hat and glasses to eat dinner and also to brush her teeth. She took the hat to school today for show and tell.

HAIR'S THE NEWS

Nora has been requesting hair styles that are a bit unusual. Every day when we get ready for school she has a different idea of what her hair should look like. Ms. Charlynn said they can hardly wait to see what Nora's hair looks like each day. Here are a couple of examples.

ARKANSAS TRIP (MORE PHOTOS)

The deer were beautiful and one of them had twins. Nora loved the fawns. It was fun watching them play.

I wanted everyone to see the what it looked like for the clouds to fill the valley. It was something to see. The photos are taken from almost the place at different times of day.
